Pray for kindness

While many of us grew up, we probably heard our parents tell us to be kind, use your manners, and be good. We probably all have heard the "be kind to your siblings" or "please be kind" talks before. It was our responsibility to listen to the request by our parents as children to be kind to others.

We are also told by our Heavenly Father to be kind to others. When we put our faith in the Lord, we receive the fruits of the Spirit. One of the fruits we receive is kindness. God gives us a gracious soul, and it is our job to practice being kind.

Be kind and compassionate to one another,

forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32

PRAYER TIP #33 - Pray for kindness

As we see from the verse above, God commands us to be kind and compassionate to others. It is sad to see and hear that our broken world has brought us away from being kind to others. With many topics dividing God's children, we lose sight of our calling of being loving and gentle to each person.

Unfortunately, it isn't common to be kind, compassionate, or forgive each other in our world today. Because of this, when we do show kindness, we are viewed differently. It is good to be different when we are doing what God has called us to do. We can practice these characteristics and live them out daily. We are showing God's love and mercy to others as we serve them well.

As we go through with our day, remember Ephesians 4:32. Also, remember love is kind, and kindness is lovely.

Prayer Points - (Pray over these requests)

  • Thank You, Lord for your example of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.

  • Lord, help me to show kindness to all.

  • Lord, allow me to be self-aware so I can be gentle and loving.
