God understands & hears our prayers

Women’s Prayer Team - Week 15

God allows storms to blow through our lives. It may be a heartache, burden, or tribulation. Some of the greatest lessons we learn are in times of adversity. God has a purpose for adversity although it can be painful when it strikes. Our reaction can take the form of questioning God. “Will the emotional pain ever stop?” “Why does God allow me to hurt like I am hurting?” We can choose to allow our pain to direct us to dig deeper into understanding what God is changing in us through the trial of adversity. Adversity comes in many ways and can last an instant or be a lifetime of continued difficulties. During the process of adversity, we can learn to cast our cares on the Lord over and over. As we continue to turn our troubles over to our caring Father God our trust in Him will become greater. We will witness His strength growing in us and feel our fear dissolving into peace. If we aren’t in a season of experiencing adversity, we need to reach out to others that are in a process of suffering and ask God to give us the wisdom we need to respond with compassion.

PRAYER TIP # 15 - God understands and hears our prayers.

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;

My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.”

Psalm 18:2-3, 6

Only God understands and hears our prayers in every adversity we face. He is our comforter during times of trial and sorrow. When we feel as though we cannot face another trying day, He is our safe place. He will reach out and protect us when problems become too large for us to deal with. He is our shield and deliverer. He is with us at every moment and every turn. He knows all about the problem and the sorrow we are experiencing. Nothing is beyond His ability to heal and restore us when we humbly ask for His help. Trust Him and rest in His continual presence and care.

Prayer Points:

  • We are grateful to You Lord for caring for us.

  • We will call on Your name, our mighty deliverer.

  • Thank You for being our shield and protection and claiming us as your own.

  • When I am weighed down with adversity I will meditate on Your presence and care.

  • I acknowledge there is nothing You can’t heal and restore.

Suggested Prayer – Pray these words in your heart or out loud:

Dear Father, my precious rock and fortress in You alone I trust. When I feel like I cannot go through another trying day I will cast all my cares on You. I trust You to reach Your loving arms out to me and protect and revive me when the adversity remains unrelenting. Keep me conscious of others suffering so I can comfort and encourage them by showing them how to turn to You, Your Word and prayer.

In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
