One of the best compliments that I have ever received is that I remind others of my Mother. There are countless reasons why I am thankful for this sentiment because my Mother, like so many others, is boundlessly kind, humble and selfless. As Mother’s Day 2021 is quickly approaching, it is a sweet reminder for most of us of the gift from God that a Mother is. For others, Mother’s Day can be a difficult reminder of trials, frustrations, sadness or grief. Each of us may enter into motherhood in a variety of different ways including traditional motherhood, fostering, adoption, miscarriage, and spiritual influence. Regardless of the definition, motherhood has one common thread - influence.
PRAYER TIP # 19 – Pray You Will Be A Godly Influence
Whether you consider yourself to be a “traditional” mom or are a woman pouring into someone’s life, it is important that you realize you have influence! We constantly are influencing other women, children, friends, co-workers and strangers around us on a daily basis. It should be our prayer that we are sharing Christ and influencing others for the sake of the Gospel as we walk with Him.
Because of the influence that Naomi had, her daughter-in-law Ruth made a decision to follow God. In the book of Ruth, we find both women after the death of Naomi’s son and Ruth’s husband. Naomi was encouraged by Ruth saying, “For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”(Ruth 1:16-17). For years to come Naomi would counsel her and be a spiritual influence on her life and the Lord would bless them both, allowing Ruth to remarry and later have a son of her own.
We pray that God would speak to you through accounts like Ruth and Naomi’s. We pray that you are encouraged and that there is a spark in you to remain close to God and grow in your relationship with Him for your own sake, and for the sake of those around you!
Prayer Points -
Thank God that He is the greatest example of a Godly influence in His Son, Jesus and through His death on the cross.
Pray that you would be thankful for Godly examples and influences in your life.
Pray for brothers and sisters in Christ that have suffered a loss or difficulty in relation to Mother’s Day.
Ask God to equip you and allow you to be a vessel for Him unto other women, children, friends, co-workers and strangers.
Pray for opportunities to influence others for Christ.

Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we thank You for Your goodness and mercy. Thank You for sending Jesus to be the perfect example for us. We are thankful that the same power that raised Christ from the dead also lives in us. We pray that we would be strengthened by Your Holy Spirit in us and that we would walk worthy of Your calling for us. We pray that any influence we have will be for Your good and Your glory alone. Thank You for the Godly examples in our lives and for Godly Mother's. Motherhood is a calling and we thank You for the gift that it is.
