The Good News of Salvation

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

How often is it that we can take many things in our life for granted? Something that is so beautiful and that I will always cherish is going on missions trips and seeing the precious children as their faces lit up when we would bring them a gift. We gave them a jump rope to play with and ice cream to enjoy, and they thought it was the best thing ever! It reminded me of how often I take so many things for granted, even the little things in my life like a jump rope or ice cream. On a much bigger scale, how often do I take my salvation for granted? Sometimes I can be so caught in the busyness of life that I don’t remind myself to be thankful for the thing I should be the most grateful for, my salvation.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Isaiah 61:10

Prayer Tip #46 - The Good News of Salvation

We, as believers of the Lord, should be the most grateful people of all. We are the ones who should express the most joy and gratitude, because we have the Lord with us every step of the way. The Lord has clothed us with His garments of salvation, and as a response our soul should express joyfulness and gladness. Jesus took the place that we should have taken, the death that we should have died. He took our sins upon Himself and paid it all on the cross. The least we could do is be in remembrance of what the Lord has done and praise His holy name.

May we continually be reminded of the Good News of salvation that the Lord has blessed us with. This is not something we should be grateful for only on the Thanksgiving holiday. We should be grateful for our salvation daily. I encourage everyone to remind themselves of the gospel, the good news of salvation, and everything that the Lord has done in our lives.

Prayer Points - (Pray over these requests)

  • Thank the Lord for your salvation.

  • Thank the Lord for everything He has blessed you with, even the little things.

  • Pray that you will be in remembrance of what the Lord has done.

  • Pray for a thankful and joyful heart.

Suggested Prayer - (Pray these words in your heart or out loud):

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for everything You have done in my life. Thank You for blessing me with the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me to constantly be in remembrance of all You have done in and through me. I ask that You help me to have a thankful and joyful heart in every season of my life. May I be thankful for everything that You have blessed me with, even the little things. Help me to not take what I have for granted. Thank You for taking my sins upon the cross and for paying the debt I owe. Thank You for the free gift of salvation that I am so undeserving of.

In Jesus' Name, Amen
