Pray For America!

ree

I’m heartbroken over what is happening in our country from the tragic stabbing on the train in Charlotte, to the recent mass shooting, to the murder of Charlie Kirk. One of these events alone is just unfathomable that it is happening in our nation, but this is becoming all too common place.

For me, our response must be one of prayer and resolve. Resolve that this is our country and we have to be a part of the change. We must be in fervent prayer for our great nation, that we would remember our roots and our heritage - that we are a nation founded on Christian principles. We are one nation under God and we need God in our nation now more than ever.

Join me and praying for Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika, and their precious children, and for his family, who are no doubt grieving the loss of such an amazing man of faith, courage, and boldness.

The foundation that he started is called Turning Point USA. In the wake of his death, we are no doubt at a turning point in our nation. It’s at this moment that we need to pray for our country and our leaders more than ever before.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

‭‭II Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ ‭

This is our response: we must humble ourselves in prayer before the Lord, seek his face, turn from our wicked ways, and he will hear us, forgive our sins, and heal our land. Oh how we need healing.

If we can learn anything from Charlie Kirk, it’s to be bold in our faith. He said that one of the things that he hoped to be remembered for after he died, is “courage for my faith.” What a powerful statement. Let’s pick up this mantle and embrace boldness with love and courage for our faith.

Prayer Tip- Pray Fervently for our Nation.

Prayer Points-

  • Lord, we are grieving over the loss of Charlie Kirk and we humbly ask you to bring comfort, mercy, and peace to his family, his wife, and his precious children during this time of tragedy.

  • Lord, we ache for our Nation. We need You now more than ever. Lord, we humble ourselves before you, we turn from our wicked ways, and we seek your face.

  • Lord, please hear from heaven, and forgive our sins, and heal our land.

  • Jesus, be near to all those who are suffering due to the fallout of recent tragedies.

  • Lord Jesus, help us to be bold in our faith to be unwavering and what we believe and to make a difference in our city our community in our nation.

In Christ Alone,
