Pray for Bearing Fruit

It is not natural for us to live by faith and to live a life without sin. We mess up and we make mistakes just like every other person does. It is a daily fight, and it takes effort to live and walk by faith in the Lord. As believers, we are called to be different and set apart for Christ. People are supposed to know that we are believers of Christ by the way that we live our lives. Paul provided a guide in the book of Galatians, by which believers are to live by as Children of God. This comes down to the fruits of the Spirit. The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This is how we ought to live our lives daily, by walking in the Spirit.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Matthew 7:18-20

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 15:5

PRAYER TIP #29 - Pray for Bearing Fruit

To be honest, I think this is something that believers know and have heard about growing up. We know that we need to produce fruit as Christians. However, how often do we succeed in applying fruit into our lives? There have been so many times in my own life where I have been guilty of not bearing the fruits of the Spirit. When my friend does me wrong, the last thing that I want to do is show love to them. When I am waiting for a long period of time and get told I have to wait even longer, the last thing I want to do is be kind and patient. I have found that this attitude happens when I am not rooted in Christ and His Word. When we are not rooted in the Lord, we will not bear fruit.

We are to live our lives everyday resembling Christ. We are to bear fruit so people will know who we are. The fruits of the Spirit are the characteristics that will begin to mark our Christian life. The way that we bear fruit is by being connected to the Vine, which is Jesus. If we are not spending time with Jesus, we cannot bear fruit. When our time is spent abiding in Him, we grow in our ability to resemble Christ more and more. If we abide in Him, we live a life of fruitfulness. If we abide in Him, He answers our prayers. If we abide in Him, we abide in His love. If we abide in Him, our joy is full. Why would we ever want to cease abiding in Him?

Prayer Points - (Pray over these requests)

· Pray to have a love for the Lord and His Word everyday.

· Pray to produce these fruits of the Spirit so people will know we are His.

· Pray to abide/remain in the Lord daily.

· Pray to be set apart for Him.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for giving us a guide of how we should live every single day. Thank You for being the best example of conveying these fruits of the Spirit. I pray that these fruits of the Spirit are something that we won’t become numb to. I pray that we will show love to people even when they are hard to love. I pray that we will have patience even when the last thing we want to do is wait longer. I pray that we will be joyful, kind, gentle, and good even when we are frustrated and angry. I pray that we will have self-control and faith when things are thrown our way. In everything, I pray that we will first turn to You and abide in You so that we can produce these fruits of the Spirit. Thank You, Jesus, for Your love and grace that You show to us every day. We love You and praise You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
