Ask God to Give you the Strength to Say Yes

Women’s Prayer Team - Week 43

Something about myself - I am type A. I am the type of person who needs to plan and have a backup plan. Although being a planner has come to my benefit in many ways, I have found myself allowing it to impact my faith in the Lord. I would hear the Lord calling me to something small and respond with an easy yes, yet when it came to the Lord calling me to something greater than myself, I struggled to say yes. The Lord had to teach me faith is not just saying yes to the small things, but saying yes to everything the Lord asks of you. The definition of faith is firm belief even in the absence of proof.

PRAYER TIP #43 – Ask God To Give You The Strength To Say Yes To The Things He Has Called You To!

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”

Jeremiah 29:11

Putting your faith in the Lord and responding with “Yes!” is not an easy calling. I have to remind myself daily, ultimately the Lord places a calling on each and every one’s heart. If I choose to only say yes to the things that are an easy response, is that true faith in the Lord? True faith in the Lord is saying yes even when you have no clue what the next step looks like. Ultimately when you are called to something greater than yourself, it is evident to be from the Lord. All the plans you create for yourself will never compare to the plans the Lord has for you.

“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.”

Proverbs 28:26

"The heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps."

Proverbs 16:8

The Lord is able to work fully and completely when you allow Him to. God’s plan for our life will always be much greater than the plan we create for ourselves when we allow Him to work. The Lord will deliver you when you listen to His voice. It may not be an easy journey, but the Lord will deliver you. We are called to lead people closer to the Lord and the best way to do that is by first saying yes to the Lord’s calling on your life. The greatest good we can do is within the calling the Lord has placed on your life.

Prayer Points:

  • Lord, press on my heart the plans You have for me.

  • Lord, help me hear Your voice when You are calling to me.

  • Lord, give me the strength to say yes to Your plans for my life.

Suggested Prayer - Pray these words in your heart or out loud:

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of Your Kingdom! Lord, place on my heart the calling you have for me. Lord, give me the strength to say yes to the plans you place on my heart. I want to be used for your glory! Remind me daily that Your ways are higher than my ways. Give me the strength to listen when you call! Point my life closer to you and what You are calling me to! Continue to work in and through my life. Establish my steps Lord! Thank You for being my constant Refuge! In Jesus Name, Amen.

With Love,

Caroline Arbelaez
