Offer the Sacrifice of Praise - 10.2.20

I don't know about you, but I feel like the last few months have been a whirlwind, rollercoaster, and all over the place. 2020 has definitely thrown us for a loop. And the enemy loves it. When we're caught off guard, it takes us a while to get our bearings and clearly see the situations going on in our lives.  One of the reasons that the enemy attacks us is to try to steal our praise. He wants to get our focus off God, and get our focus on our problem! And many times his evil plan works. God wants us to praise, but when we're sick, discouraged, down, tired, busy, or going through a tough season, we forget to praise God.   But we can't let our problems stop our praise. In fact, our praise is even more powerful in the midst of trials. So, how do we praise God when we don't feel like it? We stop and find something, anything, even the smallest things, to praise God for! In every situation, there's something that we can thank and praise Him for!  Prayer Tip #21 - Offer the Sacrifice of Praise So, no matter what you're going through right now, why not stop and offer a "sacrifice of praise" to God for everything you can think of that is good.

"Therefore by Him let us continually offer the  sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips,  giving thanks to His name." - Hebrews 13:15  When we don't feel like praising, it's a personal sacrifice to do so. That's why this Scripture calls it a "sacrifice of praise." It's a humble offering to voice our praises to Him, through our tears, in the hard times. When we do this, we are showing God that we trust Him even when things are not working out the way we hoped. Don't let the enemy steal your praise - praise God in the storm!  Call a Friend - I encourage you to call a friend and pray over the phone together! This is so powerful and I have been so blessed by praying with a friend during this season!  Prayer Points - (Pray over these requests)

  • Praise God that the problem you're going through is forcing you to keep your eyes on Jesus and grow closer to Him.

  • Praise God that He is bigger, stronger, and more powerful than any problem you face.

  • Praise God for your salvation, His good plan for your life, your future home in heaven, and a loving Heavenly Father that is by your side through it all.

  • Praise God for your church family and other Christians that are a comfort to you in your time of need and struggle.

  • Praise God that He sees every tear that you cry and every hurt that you've gone through, and He sends us the Comforter.

  • Praise God that He is good and He does good, even in hard situations.

  • Praise God for His physical provision, such as a place to live, food, vehicle, clothing - every little detail.

SUGGESTED PRAYER - Dear God, I humbly bring before You a sacrifice of praise. You have been so good to me. I praise You for my family, my salvation, my destiny in Christ, Your forgiveness of all my sins, and Your future plans for my life. I praise You for being a wonderful Heavenly Father to lead and guide me in the uncertain times of life. I confess that the problems I face help me to refocus my eyes on You, and the things that are really important in life. I praise You that You are bigger, stronger, and more powerful than any problem I face. I praise You that You see every tear that I cry and every hurt that I go through and You provide comfort through Your Holy Word, the Holy Spirit, and other Christians.  Lord, I praise You for every physical blessing You've given me, such as my home, job, vehicle, and possessions. I recognize that all I have is directly from Your hand and I am thankful for each one.  Jesus, I ask You to be with me during this storm, sustain me, guide me, lead me, and draw me close to You. I declare and believe that You are Lord, even over the hardest times in my life, and I trust You.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.
