Pray in Jesus' Name - 2.12.21

Why is it important to pray in Jesus' Name? According to God's Word, the Lord answers prayer requests based on whether they are asked according to His will and in the Name of Jesus (to bring glory to Jesus). John 14:13-14 was spoken by Jesus and He was encouraging His disciples to pray to the Father, "in His Name!" Jesus is our go-between. His death on the cross and resurrection are how we have direct access to God. When Jesus died, the thick veil of the Temple was torn in two, signifying that common man now had access to our holy and righteous God (Matthew 17:51). How powerful is it that we can go directly to the throne of God to find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). And when we do, we want to say the Name of His beloved Son, the Name above every Name- JESUS!

PRAYER TIP # 7 - Pray in Jesus' Name John 14:13-14 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 16:23-24 And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I want to encourage you to begin praying "In Jesus' Name" if you haven't already been doing so. There is power in the Name of Jesus!

PRAYER POINTS-

  • Thank God that you have direct access to Him through Christ's death on the cross.

  • Thank God that the veil in the temple was torn when Jesus died on the cross, signifying the close relationship we can now have with our holy God through His Son.

  • Thank God that there is power in the Name of Jesus.

  • Thank God that we can bring our requests before Him "In Jesus' Name!"

SUGGESTED PRAYER- Father God,

I come before Your throne in the mighty Name of Jesus, Your beloved Son. I thank You that His death on the cross purchased my salvation and gives me direct access to You. Jesus, I praise You for dying on the cross for me, and I exalt You because there is power in Your Name. God, I thank You for the close relationship that I can have with You because of Jesus' finished work on the Cross. I ask that You bless our church, Pastors, Leaders, Staff, Small Group Teachers, and Volunteers, In Jesus' Name. I ask that You supernaturally protect them from sickness, evil, and harm, and provide every need they have. God, I praise You for such a loving church family. Help us to grow in our love for You and others. In Jesus' Name, Amen
