Women’s Prayer Team - Week # 25
We are born with a yearning in our hearts to know what our purpose in life is. It has been built within us, by our Creator, to want to know why we are here on earth. We may be worried that we will never find our purpose and wonder, “Am I just not good enough to have an assignment from God?” “Is God passing me over because of something I did wrong?” We feel the void and grasp for an answer, an answer that would satisfy us, give us stability and please God. We cannot determine anyone else’s purpose for them but we can open our hearts and minds to focus on God so He can do something relevant in our lives. We must steadfastly determine to arrive at the decision that we will make our closeness to God our highest priority. What holds us back from that goal is the war within us. Our old nature, the flesh, is in a battle with the new nature that is empowered by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The only way we will continue to yield to the Holy Spirit is by consistent determination. The more you deny your old nature the stronger you grow in the Spirit. We are told in Scripture to renounce sin, that comes from our old nature.
Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
God knows the end from the beginning where we are concerned. You are significant and precious to God and He pursues you because He wants your life to pan out. He knows that the greatest joy in your life will come from the plan He has prepared for you. You will experience trials because when you follow God’s plan it involves pain and suffering. If you turn away from God, you will suffer as well and go through life without God to encourage and strengthen you. We can live with all manner of tribulation more easily when we determine to focus on God rather than living without a purpose. There will be an emptiness in your life, even if you are a Christian but haven’t determined to discover your purpose. Without a sense of purpose, we just can’t seem to put our life together, we feel disconnected and empty. When we seek God by prioritizing Bible study and prayer, He will reveal His plans for us. While you are humbly cooperating in this spiritual process you will live with purpose as you walk with God step by step and fulfill your life long God assignment.
Prayer Tip #25 - Die to self and focus on God’s purpose for your life.
“If you are to live out God’s purpose for your life, you must come to a place where you determine a focus on your life. If you will receive the fact that God is determined where you are concerned, and you will get determined where He is concerned, your life will be radically transformed. You will experience huge, miraculous, unexplainable things.”
Beth Moore
“You cannot stay where you are and go with God. You cannot continue doing things your way and accomplish God’s purpose in His ways. Your thinking cannot come close to God’s thoughts. For you to do the will of God, you must adjust your life to Him, His purposes, and His ways.”
Henry Blackaby, (author of Experiencing God)
Prayer Points, please pray over these requests:
I ask You to convict me strongly when I give into my old nature.
Remind me to consistently humble myself and yield to Your purposes
Help me to mature and not neglect You and keep my faith strong.
We are grateful to You Lord for making a plan just for us.
Dear Lord, You are in all and above everything and we thank You for Your love and patience that we experience in our lives. You are so kind and caring that You have created a unique purpose for all Your children. You also will enable us to perform with willing determination the plans You have purposed for us. We surrender our thoughts, our plans and ourselves completely to You our Lord and Savior. Help us to keep in mind that we are but a vapor on this earth and we need to determine to make our lives count by following Your purposes with all our hearts.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
Walk in Truth,
Pamela Hoeben
